Some Tips in Public Speaking

If you are one person who fears public speaking, and you simply have to deliver speeches all the time because of your work, you can take heed of the following tips for you to be able to deliver the speech of a lifetime:

First step is to plan everything you have to say.

It is obvious that there are more people who simply stand to give a speech without even having planned what to say in front. Do your part so you won’t get into the same trap. There are public speaking lessons that can help you learn this art. All you have to do is to write down a list of everything you have to say. You have to give yourself a lot of time for planning the speech and to look for references if necessary.

Second is to practice your speech aloud.

Practice is always important in delivering a speech. When you practice your speech on your own even if aloud or when you simply practice it in your head, you will never get to learn public speaking. That’s why it’s important that you get used to saying your speech like you want to do on the big day itself. When you practice the speech out loud, it’s like doing it in actuality; hence your performance will be greatly improved.

The third step is to pause.

The pause and knowing the right time to do it is important when you deliver your speech. It can give force and emotion to your speech. It is also used to break up its different parts. The speech is also great for accentuating a point you make in your speech. When you give a pause after you made a point, it will make your point clearer to them; and it will be noticed easily. Your audience will be interested in what you have said and this will also give them time to think about your point. It’s not do to overdo it though.
